The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Naval Air Station Jacksonville is located southwest of the City of Jacksonville, on the west side of the St. Johns River.

From I-95 North (from Daytona Beach): Take I-295 North over the Buckman Bridge. Exit at U.S. 17. Take U.S. 17 North about 2.5 miles to NAS Jacksonville main gate.

From I-95 South (from Brunswick, Georgia): Take I-10 West just after downtown Jacksonville. Stay in left lane and exit at U.S. 17 South. Take U.S. 17 South about 6.5 miles to NAS Jacksonville main gate.

From I-10 East (from Tallahassee): Take I-295 South. Exit at U.S. 17. Take U.S. 17 North about 2.5 miles to NAS Jacksonville main gate.

From Jacksonville International Airport (JIA):  NAS Jacksonville is about 35 miles from JIA. Take I-95 South to I-295 South. Exit at U.S. 17. Take U.S. 17 North to NAS Jacksonville’s main gate (Yorktown Gate), about 2.5 miles on the right.

The gate guard can direct you to your desired destination.
